It turns out she is also a kidney transplant recipient, having undergone 2 transplants. Admirably, she has become a real advocate for patients with kidney disease, seeking to raise awareness for living organ donation. Recently, she announced that she would be donating 1% of all profits to the NephCure foundation, which funds research relevant to nephrotic syndrome and FSGS in particular.
